The Transition Towns movement–now global and explosively expanding–is about what harnessing engaged optimism looks like, and what happens when communities take control of their responses to peak oil and climate change. It’s about telling new stories about what the future can be like: that if we can tell the right stories, and help people to see beyond their fears around climate change and the end of the age of cheap oil, there’s the potential for an economic, social and cultural renaissance the likes of which we’ve never dreamt. Transition Initiati Initiatives around the world are engaged in this exhilarating work, and In Transition, the first movie about this movement, includes footage from many of these groups.
