Multnomah County provides essential services — from primary and mental health care to public safety — designed to help keep community members healthy, safe and strong. The need for these critical services in our community continues to rise as residents get battered by unemployment, foreclosures and a tough economy.

So how will the county thrive in its mission to help people during tight budget times? In his State of the County address, Multnomah County Chair Jeff Cogen will outline innovative and collaborative solutions that attempt to address local needs.

Chair Jeff Cogen served as chief of staff to Portland City Commissioner Dan Saltzman and as Multnomah County Commissioner for North and Northeast Portland before winning election to a four-year term as County Chair in 2010.
