Portland Parks & Recreation will treat 10 people to a van tour of Forest Park on Monday, September 24 at 1PM. The van will take us into several parts of the park during the afternoon, providing an introduction to Forest Park. We will also visit sites infested with invasive ivy that threatens the health of the park so we can learn how Portland Parks & Recreation is working to eliminate ivy and restore the ecosystem. A similar tour for City Club's Forest Park Research committee received rave reviews.
A naturalist will be along to answer questions about plants and animals. There will be short walks along trails to some sites. The tour will start at 1 PM, and is expected to finish around 4 PM.
