Community Philanthropy: Why should the billionaires have all the fun?

The founders of The Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) believed that Oregonians around the state could come together to help improve our quality of life. That belief has been borne out by the tremendous growth of the Foundation, reflecting the generosity – not of one person – but of thousands of donors.
At the June 29 Friday Forum, OCF president Max Williams will discuss the changing role of the Foundation, as it adapts to the increasingly complex challenges facing our state. Because of the geographic reach and diversity of its donors, the Foundation is able to act as a neutral convener, bringing “unlikely allies” together to find common solutions – and helping to create a new 21st century philanthropy that is inclusive, innovative and rooted in community.
