Event Details
Date(s): June 5, 2017
Time: 6:00 PM  PST - 7:30 PM  PST
Rogue Eastside Pub & Pilot Brewery, 928 Southeast 9th Avenue, Portland OR
Program begins at 6pm, with doors open at 5:30 to order food and drinks

Come hear Ted Kaye, the Club’s unofficial historian, share stories of the Club’s distant and near past.  He’ll describe some of its greatest accomplishments, interesting members, and most significant challenges.  Learn about Fred Grubmeyer’s resignation in 1919, the Morse-Packwood Confrontation of 1968, the battle over admitting women in the 1970s, and the Club’s endorsement of parking meters, fluoridation, and adult prostitution.  Ted will answer questions and spur discussion of the Club’s future. We’ll also pay a little trivia and give away some prizes!

Ted Kaye has been an active member of City Club for many years, including serving on the Board of Governors.  His background is in financial administration, but his passion is in history.  He also serves on boards for Oregon Historical Society, the Lang Syne Society of Portland, and the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation.
